At Pacific Denture Centre, we offer different levels of denture fabrication to meet different needs, expectations, and budgets. Our PDC Signature Precision Denture represents our highest level of traditional, hand-crafted denture treatment.
While our milled digital dentures offer the advantages of modern CAD/CAM technology and highly consistent manufacturing, the PDC Signature Precision Denture takes a different approach. It combines traditional denture artistry, additional individualized measurements, and the clinical expertise of our denturists to create a denture specifically around you.
For patients who place a high priority on natural aesthetics, individualized tooth selection, and a highly customized denture, our PDC Signature Precision Denture offers a traditional, hand-crafted approach that allows your denturist greater control throughout the entire process.
Rather than creating a complete denture design from a digital library, individual denture teeth are carefully selected, positioned, and arranged by your denturist to complement your facial features, smile, and personal preferences. This allows for greater customization of tooth shape, size, colour, position, and arrangement.
The PDC Signature Precision Denture incorporates traditional clinical records and techniques that provide your denturist with detailed information about your unique jaw relationship, facial characteristics, and functional movements.
These records give your denturist additional information to work with when constructing your denture, rather than relying solely on generalized measurements or predetermined digital parameters.
One of the important advantages of the traditional workflow is the wax try-in appointment.
At this stage, your actual individual denture teeth are arranged in wax so you can see and evaluate the proposed appearance of your new smile before the denture is processed into its final acrylic form.
This gives you and your denturist an opportunity to assess things such as:
Tooth position and arrangement
Tooth shape and colour
Midline and smile line
Lip and facial support
Overall appearance and naturalness
Bite and functional relationships
If changes are desired, adjustments can be made to the tooth arrangement while the denture is still in the try-in stage.
Digital dentures offer many advantages. Using CAD/CAM technology, a denture can be digitally designed and then milled or printed with a high degree of consistency and reproducibility.
Depending on the digital workflow used, the try-in is produced via a printed resin replica of the proposed denture. These try-ins are still useful for evaluating the tooth position, and overall design. However, the printed try-in resin is typically available in a single shade, which can make it more difficult to accurately assess the natural colour of the proposed smile at this stage.
With the PDC Signature Precision Denture, the wax try-in allows you to evaluate the actual individual denture teeth that are intended for your finished denture, rather than a single-colour printed resin representation.
Both digital and traditional dentures can provide excellent results, and the right approach depends on your oral anatomy, functional needs, aesthetic expectations, clinical circumstances, and personal preferences.
The difference is in the workflow and the degree of hands-on customization available throughout the process.
The PDC Signature Precision Denture is designed for patients who value the opportunity to have:
Individual denture teeth setting for a maximum life-like appearance
Broader selection of tooth shapes and colours
A wax try-in using the actual teeth intended for their final denture
Traditional, hand-crafted denture artistry throughout the fabrication process
Custom life-like gum characterizing
For patients seeking the highest level of individualized aesthetic and functional customization, the PDC Signature Precision Denture offers a truly personalized approach to denture care.
Individual results and treatment steps vary depending on each patient's oral anatomy, health, treatment needs, and clinical circumstances.
